Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane may be happy to have bagged three points playing away to the lowly Las Palmas in the Sunday 13 March La Liga clash but he heads to the capital laden with concerns over his team’s shape.
While the Spanish giants were expected to sweep Las Palmas aside, they were pushed to the end, only requiring a last minute goal to bag the points and Zidane admits the performance left a lot to be desired.
“I go away happy with the result, but a little worried with what I saw in the second-half.
“We gave the ball away an incredible amount of times and if we want to achieve anything this season we have to play better, that’s clear,” said Zidane.
Real Madrid’s only realistic chance for silverware in the season is the Champions League, but that is not assured as yet and Zidane is right to be worried.
“We won’t get anywhere playing like this.”
“Las Palmas did very well and caused us a lot of problems, but it is our contribution that bothers me,” he added.
