A win over Granada on Sunday 7 February gave Real Madrid the impetus they needed as they chase the leading pack in the Spanish La Liga but manager Zinedine Zidane is not satisfied.
Real went through nervous moments in the match and it only took Luka Modric’s late goal to see the side pick a 2 – 1 win and Zidane, who with the win managed his fifth victory since taking over said the team needs to improve both in attack and defensively.
Zidane will particularly be worried with the fact that the team did not score as many goals as he’d have wished for while at the same time did not keep a clean sheet.
“We are going to try to improve everything – at the back and in attack because we need to score more goals,” Zidane said.
“We had a lot of chances and we know that at this level we need to put them in in order to be a bit more relaxed in our play.” He said.
Heading to the match, Zidane had labeled it a must win clash and he was happy to bag three points that kept his side in the hunt.
“Modric’s goal allows us to stay in the hunt for La Liga and fight until the end.
“Until it is mathematically impossible, we are going to give everything. We are going to take it game by game, which is ultimately what will lead us to titles,” he said.
