Real Madrid have undoubtedly hit their lowest moment of the season with the loss to city rivals Atletico Madrid in the La Liga clash staged at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday 27 February.
Antoine Griezman scored the lone goal to condemn Real Madrid to their fourth loss of the season and open a four point gap between them, placed second and third on the La Liga table but Ream Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has continued encouraging his charges to fight on.
From the loss, Real Madrid could fall 12 points behind league leaders Barcelona at the start of the new week but Zidane is only urging his charges to focus on the next match, an away game against Levante.
The Champions League seems the most likely chance at silverware in the season for Madrid who were kicked out of the Copa Del Rey but the manager can’t afford to think about European glory just yet.
“We have things to do this year. We have the Champions league and La Liga games. We have to keep up our work. This is a difficult time. It is necessary to be professional and think about the next game. Madrid will never give in, neither me nor the players. They can criticise us, but I am going to look for a solution and to do that we need to win on Wednesday”.
“Before the Champions league we have a game on Wednesday and we have to prepare for that game in order to play at our top level and win. Our duties and aims are for the next game. Today is a tough blow. Losing at home against Atlético is difficult”. He said.
