Posta Rangers have advanced to the GOtv Shield third round after seeing their appeal at the Football Kenya Federation’s Independent Disciplinary and Appeals Committee (IDAC) end well to have the club reinstated to the tournament.
The team capped it all with a win over Ushuru FC in the second round clash on Saturday 17 September at the Nyayo National Stadium to advance, much to head coach Zedekiah Zico Otieno’s relief.
The coach, speaking after the match, termed it a good break since they waited for months to be able to play the match after appealing. He thanked the players for a good fighting spirit in the match as he called for a shift to the next game.
“It is good to be back and to get the win. It is very motivating for the players and especially given this was a very tough match. I am very happy to advance and thankful to the players for their spirit but now we have to start thinking about the next game,” he said.
By the win, Rangers will be taking on Agrochemicals FC in the third round on Wednesday 21 September, seeking to secure a place in the quarter final where they will find Tusker waiting.
