Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia head coach Jose Marcelo Ferreira has called on his charges to shift focus to Sony Sugar in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) after beating National Super League (NSL) side Nairobi Stima 2 – 0 in the Saturday 30 July clash at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Gor Mahia had to labor against Stima and the coach Ferreira, aka Ze Maria, admits that it was a tough match and they had to give a lot to get the win.
Enoch Agwanda and Rwandan Meddie Kagere scored the goals to bail out Gor Mahia and speaking afterwards, the Brazilian coach lauded his charges for a great mentality to win the match while noting that all energies are now focused on the match against Sony Sugar on Wednesday 3 August.
“It was a tough game; they gave us a hard time but I am happy at how my players responded to their challenge. I am pleased with their mentality and that is what we want to do in all matches.
“Now our focus goes back to the match against Sony Sugar and we know it will not be easy especially given that we will be playing away from home. We will work hard to be ready for the game and hope for a win,” he said.
