The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has released the country’s national team squad ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Kenya on Saturday 3 September.
In the team of 23, coached by George Lwandamina, South Africa based Collins Mbesuma who scored a goal in the 2 – 1 win over Kenya in the first meeting between the two nations has been omitted.
However, Winston Kalengo, who scored the other goal is in the team as is Felix Katongo, who has been missing for over a year now.
Both teams will not qualify for the 2017 showpiece in Gabon regardless of the result in the game. Guinea Bissau leads the group with ten points while Congo is second on six points same to Zambia with Kenya bottom, having managed four points so far.
