Mamelodi Sundowns are due to meet Zamalek in the group stage of the Caf Champions League on Wednesday.
A draw would cement the Brazilians spot in the semi-finals.
Egyptian clubs may be trying to destabilizes Sundowns with news of interest in their star man Khama Billiat surfacing before the game.
According to Zimbabwe’s leading publication, The Herald, record eight-time Caf Champions League champions Ahly are set to begin talks with Sundowns regarding Billiat.
It is said that Ahly’s footballl director Abdel-Aziz Abdel Shafi has authorised their agent Shady Mostafa El-Tawila to contact Sundowns and start negotiations on their behalf.
Furthermore, their rivals Zamalek are believed to have already submitted an offer for the 25-year-old player who joined Sundowns from Ajax Cape Town in 2013.
Billiat has already been linked with French Ligue 1 sides AS Monaco and Lille OSC and an unnamed Chinese club.
