Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has omitted winger Ashley Young from the squad billed to face Ahmed Musa’s CSKA Moscow in the Champions League Group B tie on Wednesday.
Young missed the Red Devils 3-0 win against Everton at the weekend due to a calf injury and was subsequently dropped for the trip to Russia.
The former Aston Villa man is not the only absentee as Luke Shaw, Paddy McNair and James Wilson are also not available.
The usual suspects Wayne Rooney, Memphis Depay, and Anthony Martial made the trip alongside Sergio Romero and Antonio Valencia who were not involved in the win against the Toffees at Goodison Park.
Amazingly all four teams in the group have three points after two games and a win in Russia could prove vital for both teams as they look to progress into the knockout phase.
Manchester United squad to face CSKA: De Gea, Romero, Johnstone, Darmian, Smalling, Jones, Rojo, Blind, Carrick, Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin, Fellaini, Valencia, Pereira, Mata, Herrera, Memphis, Lingard, Rooney, Martial.
