Bidvest Wits are in the race for Amakhosi target Katlego Mashego.
The 33-year-old forward has found it difficult to get a place in Pitso Mosimane’s team, and has seen his career draw to a close since his heady days as a Bafana Bafana squad member.
Even though he’s past his prime, Mashego’s experience can still be useful in the squad.
“The coach wants to boost the striking force in the new year and having worked with Mashego in the past he feels that it would be a great move for the team to give Mashego a chance to play again as he is not playing at Sundowns right now,” the source told Goal.com
“The coach wants to win the league and he feels having experienced players like Mashego would help in his quest to lift the title,” the source concluded.
Mashego has only made three Absa Premiership appearances for Sundowns this season, so he desperately need to resurrect his hopes.
