Quique Sanchez Flores says he hopes to give the Hornets’ supporters plenty to celebrate during a busy Christmas schedule as they (Fans) are the reason why Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo and his team-mates work so hard week in week out.
The Hornets face two games in the space of three days – with a trip to Chelsea on Saturday on Boxing day (Dec 26) followed by Spurs’ visit to Vicarage Road on Monday (Dec 28).
And Watford’s Head Coach is completely on board with offering up as much football as possible for supporters over the festive period.
“I am happy because it is a new experience for me, of course, but I think it’s completely normal to play for kids and for families and for fans in this period, when they can rest a little bit more.
“It’s perfect that we can use this time to offer football for the fans, and it’s an amazing experience.
“They [the Watford fans] are our main reason. We work for them and we try to play with a high performance and a high mentality for them.
“I am used to 2,000 or 3,000 supporters coming to away games and I hope we are able to repeat a very good performance, because they deserve it.” Sanchez told the Watford Weekend Preview Show on Hornets PlayerHD
