Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed his fears of setting up his defense against West Ham United’s Andy Carroll ahead of Wednesday night’s FA Cup quarter-final replay.
The England centre-forward scored a hat-trick at the weekend as the Hammers played out a 3-3 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League.
Louis van Gaal who led the Red Devils to ambush at White Hart Lane where Tottenham Hotspurs totally destroyed his team 3-0, admitted that Carroll “has special qualities”.
“He has special qualities. We have seen that in the match that he played on Saturday,” the United boss told reporters.
“It was against Arsenal and they have great central defenders but still he could do that. So we have to cope with Andy Carroll.”
Carroll who has been plagued by injury for better part of the 2015/16 season has found the net seven times in all competitions this campaign.
