After a fine season in the Barclays Premier League, West Ham United is getting ambitious and have had reported interest in one of Europe’s top rated talents, Carlos Bacca.
The London side placed a £15m bid for the Colombian forward but his agent Sergio Barila, quoted on Sky Sports, says the bid was flatly rejected by his Italian Serie A club, AC Milan.
The agent however does not completely rule out a move for his client, especially since the Italian side will not be playing in Europe next season.
Bacca, a member of the Colombia Copa America squad, is out on national team duty and the agent states that it is likely the decision on his future will be made after the tournament.
“There was an offer last week from West Ham which was rejected, so we must wait.
“Carlos is very happy in Milan because it is a very big club and he has enjoyed his time there so far. But they will not play in European competition next season and that could be a problem.
“At the moment Carlos is training with the national team for the Copa America and it is likely we will have to wait for the new investors before anything can develop.” He said.
