Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has fuelled speculation N’Golo Kante could join the Gunners by praising the Leicester midfielder ahead of Euro 2016.
The Foxes midfielder has a £20million release clause in his current contract and has already confirmed he will decide his future at the end of the tournament later this summer.
Chelsea are ready to treble his current £35,000 per week wages to persuade him to move to Stamford Bridge but he appears to be firmly on the Gunners radar too with PSG also interested.
And Arsenal boss Wenger is a huge fan of the Premier League title winner.
“I admire and like N’Golo Kanté a lot. It gives you ideas,” he told beIN Sports. “He gives you the feeling that the higher the level he plays at, the more at ease he is.
“We are talking about numbers. He has the most interceptions in Europe and by far.
“He has incredible quality. He feels the game, only very few people can do that. He’s always where he needs to be.
“It is very rare to have that in the central midfielder. Not always orthodox, but always in the right place.”
Wenger also revealed that he picks the Arsenal team every Friday to let his players know whether they’ll be playing sooner rather than later, a practice which he thinks is different to most.
“I found this out at the UEFA manager’s meeting in Geneva,” he added. “I’m basically the only manager who gives the team on Friday.
“Everyone else seems to inform the squad of their team as late as possible.
“Sometimes you give the team late for solidarity reasons. Those who don’t play, maybe they’ll call their agents etc.
“But those who are starting, they want to know.
“When you are picking the team, you usually know 9 out of 11 by Friday.
“But I find that if you do not know the team on Friday evening, you don’t know it on Saturday morning either.”
