Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny will join the club this week and maybe available for the game against Stoke City on Sunday.
The Gunners are confident of completing all formalities after agreeing £5m with Switzerland side Basel for the services of the player. North Londoners are desperate for the defensive midfielder to play at the Britannia against the Potters as first choice Francis Coquelin is still out injured.
Although there has been no official confirmation from the Arsenal, Wenger has hinted that the Egyptian midfielder may feature against Stoke City at the weekend.
“Elneny will join us. We will see if he can qualify for Sunday,” he told reporters following his side’s 3-3 draw away at Liverpool.
Arsenal are joint top of the premier league with Leicester City on 43 points after the Foxes defeated Tottenham 1-0 away.
