Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo was on the losing side on Saturday as in-form Alexis Sanchez maintained his impressive form to help Arsenal to an emphatic 3-0 away victory over Waford.
Arsenal scored three goals in 12 minutes to see off a spirited Watford side at Vicarage Road.
Sanchez who netted three goals in two matches for Chile during the international break continued his incredible scoring run, grabbing his 10th in six matches for club and country to round off a slick counter-attack moments after Ighalo and his team-mates had a penalty shout turned down.
Olivier Giroud came off the bench to rattle home a second from Mesut Ozil’s cross and Aaron Ramsey bundled home the third following an excellent work from full-back Hector Bellerin.
The score line was perhaps flattering on the visitors after a muscular, industrious Watford side held their own for the first hour, but Arsenal’s quality on the ball eventually made the difference.
Arsenal have now scored 11 times in their last three Premier League fixtures and they climb back into second place in the Premier League, two points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
The Arsene Wenger led side will now turn their attention to Tuesday’s huge Champions League clash with group leaders Bayern Munich.
