The Kenyan Sports Cabinet Secretary Dr. Hassan Wario has called on corporate bodies to consider pumping more funds for the development of sports in the country.
Wario, while speaking at the launch of a new sports betting company that has just set base in the country, mCHEZA, said corporate social responsibility plays a major role in the development of sports and lauded the company for an initiative that will aid in the growth of talent.
He however called on all sports administrators in the country to strive for transparency so they may be seen to be credible by sports lovers in the country as well as attract sponsorships. He further reiterated that the government will continue engaging sports administrators in order to enhance the levels of professionalism.
“It is well worth noting that corporate social responsibility is important and I would like to commend the mCHEZA team for showing initiative and supporting us in growing talented youth.
“I would like to urge all governing bodies to streamline the management of sports in the country in order to demonstrate credibility among sports fans and lovers. We continue to hold talks on how to enhance the level of professionalism within the sports authorities,” said Dr. Wario.
