Kenyan international Victor Wanyama is set to have a medical at White Hart Lane ahead of his proposed move to London to join Tottenham Hotspurs.
According to Sky Sports, the midfielder, who has been on holiday in Kenya after the 2015/16 season, flew out of Nairobi to complete a four – year deal with Spurs thought to be in the region of £11 – £12m.
Wanyama, signed at Southampton three years ago by Pochettino from Scottish side Glasgow Celtic, cost £12.5m and the Saints want to recoup as much as possible from Wanyama, who would otherwise leave for free in a year.
Tottenham tried to sign the player last August when Wanyama told Ronald Koeman he wished to leave and re-join Pochettino, who signed him while boss on the south coast, but Southampton refused to sell.
At White Hart Lane, Wanyama is assured of Champions League football yet again after previously playing in Europe’s elite club tournament while at Celtic.
