Kenyan international Victor Wanyama is already getting sucked in the banter between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspurs in the Barclays Premier League with the two teams bitter rivals in North London.
Wanyama completed the move to Tottenham in the past week and will get the first feel of a derby and the North London rivalry when his new team takes on cross town rivals when they face Arsenal and in his speech, he said on a light note though, that North London has one giant – Tottenham.
“They (Arsenal) should know there is only one team in North London, one giant, and that is Tottenham. I can’t wait for the derby,” he said.
Wanyama has in his three years at Southampton been a key player in the games against Arsenal and was a t some point linked with a move to the team though it never came out officially from the club.
Wanyama further revealed at the function, that he is an ardent Manchester Unite fan but noted that it would never affect his dedication as a Spurs player.
“I am a keen Man United fan and I really follow them a lot but that has never affected my allegiance to my employers. I am a professional and that is how it will always stay,” he added.
Wanyama was unveiled at the party as the new Let’s Play ambassador.
