Kenyan international Victor Wanyama may finally get his chance to move to North London side Tottenham Hotspur after the failed attempt by Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino to get him last season.
The midfielder is reported to be on the verge of an £11m move to London from Southampton to rejoin his former manager at the Saints and the English media report that the move might happen within the next 48 hours.
Wanyama has just one year remaining on his Southampton deal and Tottenham and Southampton will hold further talks this week as they inch towards an agreement over the transfer of Victor Wanyama as reported by Sportsmail who also revealed in April that Tottenham had revived interest in the Kenya international after failing to sign him last summer and discussions have been ongoing since.
Wanyama joined Southampton three years ago from Glasgow Celtic for a £12.5m fee and his defensive qualities have proven vital for the Saints who will be taking part in the Europa League for the second straight season in 2016/17 but a chance to play in the UEFA Champions League with Spurs could be too hard to turn down.
The midfielder is currently in Kenya for the summer break.
