Kenyan international Victor Wanyama and his Southampton team mate Jose Fonte have been discharged from a Liverpool hospital after picking injuries in the 1 – 1 draw with Everton in the Saturday 16 April clash at Goodison Park.
Fonte, the Southampton captain suffered a concussion after an aerial challenge by Arouna Kone and had to be withdrawn on the 37th minute while Wanyama was hit in the rib area and the two had to be rushed to hospital for tests during the game.
They were given the all clear after checkups delivered a clean bill of health on Sunday 17 April and driven back to Hamphire after their teammates had flown back. Fonte was elated to be back to his senses after the knock and had a tweet for it.
“Don’t remember coming off but I’m glad to say we are all clear to go home!! @victor Wanyama is clear too!! Thanks for the support today and #wemarchon to the next one!!” Fonte Tweeted.
