Bandari FC’s preparations for the trip to DR Congo have suffered a setback with the news that the team’s Ugandan trio of Musa Mudde, George Abege and Dann Sserunkuma will be unavailable.
Bandari is scheduled to play Congolese side St. Eloi Lupopo on Sunday 14 February in the CAF Confederations Cup and with the trio without a Kenyan work permit, the Congolese embassy has suggested that they go back to their country to apply for the same.
When playing in Kenya, Ugandans and Tanzanians do not need work permit but the Congolese embassy insists they need the document for their Visas to be processed.
“They told us that the next possible action for us is for the players to go back to Uganda and get their work permits there. But again, that will take a minimum of three days. We have written to CAF telling them of our predicament but we are yet to get a response,”
“We have asked whether they can be issued with visas upon arrival but they have not responded,” Bandari Technical Director Edward Oduor said.
