Ghana international Jordan Ayew is not enjoying the best of times at Aston Villa with his club bottom of the premier league but teammate Jordan Veretout has been impressed with the former Marseille man.
The 23-year-old initially struggled to stamp his authority in the Villa team and only scored his first goal in the defeat to Swansea City where his brother Andre Ayew scored the winner.
However, since the arrival of Remi Garde the Ghanaian has transformed into a different player and Veretout raved about the individual brilliance of Ayew and singled him out for praise as he also hailed his fighting spirit.
“I have been very impressed with Jordan,” he told AVTV HD “I think he is getting better every week – and he is scoring goals for the team and contributing a lot overall. Jordan is a real fighter. That’s a very good quality he has.
“He is also very clean technically. He is excellent on the ball and has real precision with his passing – and it’s also tough for defenders to get him off the ball. He makes very good decisions on the ball offensively too.”
Aston Villa are currently bottom of the premier league and they face a very tough task this weekend with high-flying Arsenal their guest on Sunday.
