Teammate of Nigerian International Victor Moses at West Ham United Dimitri Payet has frowned at being snubbed for national assignments by France manager Didier Deschamps.
The 28-year-old former Marseille midfielder has been in a terrific form this season for the Hammers in the Premier League but has not featured for Les Bleus since appearing as a substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Albania in June.
Payet unlike Samir Nasri who swore not to play for the National team, is a France faithful that wants to represent fatherland but cannot understand why Deschamps has ignored his current form.
“I feel as if it is an injustice,” he told the London Evening Standard. “It is more than a year now that I am in the best form of my career, even if I can still get better. So, for me, it is unjust not to be in the France squad.
“I do not understand what is expected of me. But not to be called up for France does not stop me from living.”
Payet has scored four times in the Premier League for West Ham in eights matches so far.
