The much rumoured move Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy to Arsenal may be on the verge of collapse as the England international is set to snub a switch to the Emirates, according to the Mirror.
The Gunners were reported to have triggered Vardy’s £20m release clause and the forward already passed his medicals with the London club.
However, the 29-year-old promised Arsene Wenger an answer on Monday and flew off with the Three Lions to France for the Euro 2016 but never sent a word back which has left the premier league runner-up in dilemma.
The Mirror believes that Arsenal are currently losing their battle to sign the former non-league forward after Leicester offered him an improved new contract to stay at the King Power Stadium.
Vardy’s teammates are pursuading him to stay at the club and help them fight in their first ever UEFA Champions League outing next year. Foxes fans already had a war of words with Vardy’s wife on social media but this new development will indeed gladden their hearts.
Vardy inspired Leicester City to their first premier league title ever, scoring 24 goals in the process.
