Zinedine Zidane departed the Spanish capital with two of his feared injured players to Manchester City ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash against the Etihad outfit.
The Los Blancos who play the first-leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday, set off from their training ground to terminal 4 of Barajas Airport where they departed for the English city on a flight that is due to arrive around 1:30pm as confirmed by a club statement.
The team will have a training session by 8pm CEST at the Etihad Stadium with 15 minutes open to the media.
Ronaldo who has scored 47 goals already this season looked to be a doubt after picking up a thigh strain last week but he is expected to be given every opportunity to prove his fitness ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final after flying to Manchester with the rest of his Real Madrid team-mates.
The strain saw Zinedine Zidane leave Ronaldo out for the 3-2 weekend win at Rayo Vallecano over the weekend.
Also, Benzema who was taken off in Saturday’s come back against Rayo Vallecano and was reportedly a doubt for the clash at the Etihad was also on the plane to the City of Manchester.
