Coach Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have been handed a tricky opponent in Steaua Bucharest for the UEFA Champions League play-offs.
City who finished fourth in the Premier League last season will have to navigate pass their Romanian opponents to make it to the group phase of Europe’s biggest club competition.
Quite ambitious to rule Europe after enjoying some success on the domestic scene , City have brought in Guardiola from Bayern Munich and have also been spending big in the summer transfer window with some quality buys.
As reflected in Friday’s draw, Elsewhere, Portuguese side Porto will go head to head with Italian giants Roma, while La Liga’s Villareal will take on French club Monaco in the playoffs.
As already stated, the first legs will be played on August 16 and 17, with the return legs a week letter on August 23 and 24.
