Despite managing a win that puts their silverware ambition close to fruition, Bandari FC head coach Twahir Muhiddin is not a very amused man.
The coach led his team to a 1 – 0 win over Ulinzi Stars in the GOtv Shield clash staged at the Mombasa County Stadium on Saturday 7 November but the coach feels the players were subjected to harsh conditions with the game starting at 1pm.
With the usually high temperatures at the Coast, Twahir states that the federation should have planned for a later kickoff to protect players from the scorching heat.
He stated that the heat affected Ulinzi Stars more but lauded his charges for the good output against a tough opponent.
“The organizers of the game were at fault scheduling the game for 1pm. It is very unfair because this area has high temperatures and even we as a coastal team don’t train at that time of the day. It was a big risk and a bad one for that matter to have the game at that time of the day and I feel it did a lot of damage to Ulinzi Stars.
“Nonetheless, I have to congratulate my boys for a great show; we came up against a tough opponent and we did well. The players gave some good dedication and did well against a very good team,’ he said.
