Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger ha refuted claims suggesting that he is interested in luring Odion Ighalo’s strike partner at Watford Troy Deeney to the Emirates.
While answering questions from reporters on Friday, Wenger suggested that the reports of a planned move for Deeney are incorrect .
Indeed, Ighalo and Deeney have formed a lethal partnership with the duo accounting for 20 of Watford’s goal in the EPL this season.
In another light, Wenger also revealed that the club’s move for Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny is yet to go through due to complications.
The Gunners have reportedly agreed a fee of around £5m to sign the defensive midfielder and are now finalising details to complete the move.
Wenger told reporters Friday morning that he expects the deal to go through in the next few days. “It’s complicated a little bit but we are working hard on it,” said Wenger.
“I hope in the next two to three days we get to the end of it.” Wenger concluded.
