Reigning Nigeria Premier League champions, Enyimba have started recruiting for next season as they have snapped up erstwhile Kano Pillars shot stopper Theophilus Afelokhai ahead of the 2015/2016 season.
Keen to consolidate on their performance last season and also put up a good display in the CAF Champions League, the Aba Landlords have embarked on getting more experienced players in their squad.
The media officer of the seven-time Nigeria league winners Alaputa Farriel made the disclosure of their latest acquisition via his twitter handle.
“Enyimba FC have reached an agreement with Kano Pillars over the transfer of goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai,” he tweeted
Afelokhai has been with the Pyramid Boys for close to a decade where he has carved a niche as one of the most consistent goalkeepers on the local scene even though he has often been overlooked by the national team selectors.
It is yet to be seen if the latest arrival will be the number one choice as Enyimba already have top-rated goalkeepers in Femi Thomas, who is with the CHAN Eagles, U20 star Joshua Enaholo and veteran Chijoke Ejiogu.
