Yaya Toure’s dad has pleaded with Pep Guardiola to bring his son in from the Etihad doldrums and restore him to first team action.
The Manchester City midfielder has been frozen out by Guardiola after a war of words with Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk, with Guardiola stating that the 33-year will not be considered for selection unless his agent apologizes.
Already, his time at the club looks all but over, having figured only once for City this season.
However, his father, Mory, wants the manager to back down and allow the former Ivory Coast captain back into the fold.
He told the Sun: “I’m worried about him. It’s a problem. We ask Guardiola to come down to earth. He’s the boss. I ask him for forgiveness, to let my son do his work.”
Toure has made more than 250 appearances for City since his £24million move from Barcelona six years ago.
But it looks like he has played his last game for the club after his agent’s attack on Guardiola.
However, his father believes he will see out the remaining year of his contract in the Manchester
He added: “Yaya loves the club a lot, he’s a good player for the team. He has the morale to play.
“I can’t speak in his place. I think he’ll stay. He’s intelligent. He’ll make a good choice after.”
