Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres says his side do not have a preference for Real Madrid or Manchester City ahead of the Champions League Finals in Milan later this month.
Torres also refered to as El Nino who missed a chance to get on the score sheet in Germany on Tuesday spoke to BT Sport after helping Atletico get past Bayern Munich in the semi-final.
The Spaniard who won a penalty that was saved by Manuel Neuer, admitted the spot kick shouldn’t have been awarded as the foul as Javi Martinez, was outside the box.
“I want to win. We have the chance to write history, no one in Atletico has done it. It doesn’t matter the opponent, we want to win, we’re ready.
“We have beaten the champions of Holland, Spain, Germany, so it doesn’t matter. We’re ready to fight with everyone.” Torres stated
Torres who struggled during his spell at Chelsea after joining the Stamford Bridge side in a big money move from Liverpool also felt Atletico Madrid deserved their place in the Champions League Final after seeing off Bayern Munich.
Torres has scored five goals in his last seven games and put in a strong performance in his side’s 1-0 win over Bayern Munich in Wednesday’s first leg Champions League semi-final.
The striker at his pomp was signed by Chelsea from Liverpool for £50million in 2011, but a failure to fit in at Stamford Bridge led to him departing on a free transfer last year.
