Kenyan international Victor Wanyama is winning friends fast since completing the move to Tottenham Hotspurs and has been described as beast on the pitch by his new teammate at the North London side Toby Aldeweireld.
The Belgian defender played alongside Wanyama at Southampton in the 2014/15 season and spoke to the London club’s official website, where he compared the midfielder’s life on and off the pitch, stating that he can be a different person in the circumstances.
He has a respect and admiration for Wanyama; his strength and work ethic and he notes that Wanyama’s addition will be great for Spurs.
“He’s a beast on the pitch but a very nice person off it. Obviously I played with him at Southampton and I think he’s one of the best midfield players in the Premier League.
“He’s strong, he can play with the ball and mentally he’s very strong too. He likes to work hard and that’s perfect for the team that we are building now,” he said as quoted by the official Tottenham website.
Other than Toby, Wanyama reunited with boss Mauricio Pochettino, who signed the Kenyan from Celtic in 2013.
