Real Madrid welsh star Gareth Bale will be out of action for up to three weeks after picking a calf injury in the 5 – 1 win over Sporting Gijon in the La Liga clash on Sunday 17 January.
The attacker had scans on the injury at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital with the club afterwards reporting that he had suffered a soleus muscle injury in his right leg though it did not state for up to how long the player will be out.
Spanish media however reported that he will be out of action for Real Madrid for about 21 days with his possible return to action being in the game against AS Roma in the UEFA Champions League on 17 February.
The former Tottenham star has suffered similar injuries twice already in the season, staying out for two weeks on each occasion and it remains to be seen how the club responds to the setback given he has been in great form under Zinedine Zidane’s reign.
So far in the season Bale has scored 13 La Liga goals.
