The draw for the 2015 Telkom Knockout last eight took place at the Premier Soccer League (PSL) headquarters at lunchtime on Monday.
Defending champions SuperSport United were first out the draw bowl and they will play Golden Arrows, who advanced beyond the first round after beating Ajax Cape Town, Arrows back in the competition for the first time in two years after they played in the National First Division last season.
Free State Stars have been a team on the up in recent weeks and they will be hopeful that home advantage could prove decisive when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns.
The third of the four quarter-final fixtures will involve Maritzburg United and one of the University of Pretoria and Orlando Pirates, who must still play their first round game, the match postponed until October 16, 2015, due to Pirates’ exploits in the CAF Confederations Cup.
If Pirates win, they will host Maritzburg. If AmaTuks beat the Buccaneers, the Tshwane side will travel to Pietermaritzburg to take on a Team of Choice that recorded their first win of the 2015/ 2016 season with Friday night’s 2-1 TKO last 16 victory over Jomo Cosmos.
The last of the four games sees high flying Black Aces squaring up to Kaizer Chiefs as Aces coach Muhsin Ertugral prepares for battle against his former employers.
