Muhoroni Youth defender Yusuf Mohamed is upbeat following his first call up to the Kenyan national team Harambee Stars currently in camp preparing for two upcoming matches.
After an impressive run in the league, the left back was included in the provisional squad of 40 players, and he is looking to have an impact.
He admits the chance for the national team came as a factor of the chance granted to him by his club and he duly thanked his team mates and club management.
“This is a great turn for me; a dream. It is always great to be considered for the national team because it points out that you are on the right track.
“I am happy to get this chance and I want to thank my team mates at Muhoroni and the club management for giving me the chance to play. I want to work hard and be able to impress even in the national team. I know it will not be easy but I am ready for it,” he said.
Kenya will take on Uganda in an international friendly before taking on Zambia early in September in their final AFCON qualifier on Saturday 3 September.
