Arsenal fans are set for some exciting news as Arsene Wenger has told them they are ‘close’ to making another signing.
The Gunners have had an underwhelming summer recruitment drive, as they have only signed Granit Xhaka, Takuma Asano and Rob Holding, with the fans craving for more ‘big name’ signings especially in the defence and attack.
Wenger may however be finally able to satiate their desire for signings as he has confirmed they will make another signing.
“Yes we are close [to another signing],” Wenger told BT Sport. “But I would say spending in itself is not a quality. Spending and buying the right players is a quality.
“I am a bit fed up to always respond to the same things. We look and analyse absolutely everything and we have to make the right decisions.”
Recent reports are also claiming the Arsenal boss is considering a move for Porto’s Yacine Brahimi after missing out on Riyad Mahre.
Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea re also understood to be interested in the Algerian, and could provide stern opposition to Arsenal’s chances.
Brahimi is believed to want to leave the Portuguese giants, and was left out of their Champions League qualifier in midweek and the Portuguese club will sell the player for £40million.
