Odion Ighalo will square up against Nigeria compatriots Mikel Obi and Victor Moses in the premier league after fixtures for the 2015/16 season was released by the English FA.
The resumption date for the new season is slated for August 13, 2016 and Ighalo’s Watford opens with an away game against Southampton before welcoming Chelsea to the Vicarage Road the following weekend.
Ighalo had a fantastic first season in the premier league with the Hornets as he emerged the club’s topscorer with 15 goals while placing eighth on the overall goals chat behind Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), Jarmie Vardy (Leicester City), Romelu Lukaku (Everton), Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City), Olivier Giroud (Arsenal) and Jermain Defoe (Sunderland).
However, the former Granada forward is currently being linked with the likes of Atletico Madrid, Valencia and a possible move to the very lucrative Chinese Super League who are prepared to make him the highest paid Nigerian player ever with a whopping £300,000-per-week contract.
Victor Moses who just came back from a loan spell at West Ham may need to fight for a spot with the likes of Eden Hazard, Willian, and Pedro while Mikel will hope to remain relevant this season.
If the any of Ighalo’s suitors manages to lure him away from Vicarage Road, it will break the hearts of the fans as the Nigerian is easily their favourite star.
