Kenyan international Victor Ali Abondo has finally joined South African top flight side Ajax Cape Town after parting ways with the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia on mutual consent.
The midfielder has not featured for Gor Mahia in the 2016 season and managed to get his release from the club after attending successful trials with the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

Abondo a league winner with both Tusker FC and Gor Mahia in Kenya, has signed a two year deal and stated his elation at completing the deal in a comment on the club’s official website.
“It’s a good feeling to finally sign for Ajax Cape Town. This is what I’ve always dreamt of. I consider Ajax as one of the best club’s in the PSL. Even in Kenya, people know Ajax Cape Town and rate the club highly. I will work hard to make my stay here successful,
“I’ve worked hard on my capabilities, so it’s time for me to take the next step in my career. For me, this is a big challenge and I will give it my all,’ he said as quoted.
Abondo, who has also played for Sony Sugar and Bandari previously, joins compatriots Brian Onyango Mandela (Maritzburg United) and Kevin Kimani (Jomo Cosmos) in the PSL.
