Ulinzi Stars once again spurned a chance at challenging for the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title on Saturday 24 September as the team suffered a 0 – 1 loss to Chemelil Sugar in the league match played in Awasi taking a blow to their title ambitions, with Tusker having stretched their lead on Friday.
Jared Obwoge scored a late goal in the game to condemn Ulinzi Stars to yet another winless outing and stand in coach Benjamin Nyangweso was left licking wounds, complaining on missed chances in the match, saying they should have wrapped it up had they made good use of their chances.
The loss makes it harder for the team currently in sixth place and 11 points behind league leaders Tusker but he coach said they will still give their all to the end of the season.
“It was a match we should have won had we made use of our chances but here we are again just reflecting at the misses. That was the reason we lost this and we have to laud the winners for using their crucial chance and got three points.
“We still have five matches to go; those are 15 points to fight for and we will give our all and hope things get better,” he said.
