Nigerian star enjoys brace in Norwegian Cup


Nigerian forward Ibrahim Shuaibu has expressed great excitement with his current form following his brace for FK Haugesund in the 8-1 demolition of Stord in the first round of the Norwegian Cup.

The former Giwa Football Club of Jos forward had not scored in the league this season which enters the fifth week this weekend but opened his goals account in style with two second half strikes after Super Eagles defender, Troost-Ekong also netted in the rout.

“I’m for the goals I scored, I thank Almighty Allah, this is the beginning of my career on Europe I also want to appreciate my fans back who have been supported with their prayers,” Shuaibu said.

The 19-year-old revealed that he is fired up for the game against Lillestrom in the week 5 of the Norwegian League at the Haugesund Stadion.

“We have a big game on Friday and I want to replicate this form in that match, yesterday is one game I will never forget scoring two goals and one assist is something great and I believe the managements are expecting alot from me,” he added.

Haugesund are currently placed ninth on the log with six points after four matches this season.
