Kenyan international Victor Wanyama had his first training session with his new team Tottenham Hotspurs on Tuesday 5 July as the club kicked off preparations for the 2016/17 season.
A majority of the players have not yet reported back due to the Euro 2016 schedules but still Wanyama, the first signing at the club, revealed his satisfaction at the way the session was conducted and how he was welcomed to the club.
Wanyama will be hoping to settle in very fast and be able to fight for a starting place; he says the good reception is the key to doing well.
“Today has been great, and putting on the Spurs kit felt so good. I met the players for the first time and it felt like I’ve been here already, but it was my first day. Everyone was really friendly and I was really happy with the way everyone responded to me.
“I felt so welcome. It’s the first time I’ve met Chris and it was good to see him. The lads were also fantastic. I’ve had a great reception today. I’m really happy,” Wanyama told the club’s official portal.
