Coach of the Australia U-17 team, Tony Vidmar has made a confession that the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria are a lethal side and also pointed out that the Eaglets will punish any opposition when given the chance to operate.
The Eaglets made a feast off the Aussies in their Round of 16 clash as they thumped them 6-0 and the Australia Coach said he was disappointed that his side did not make the most of the better possession they enjoyed.
“We played a big part in this result. In the previous matches we managed to put a high pressure on our rivals, that was key today. Coach Vidmar began in his post-match assessment.
He continued: We had the possession, but did not do anything with it. Our lines began to separate between each other and with spaces, they are lethal.
“I hope these kids can take the good things out of these three weeks and improve from there. I know that myself, as a coach, took positive things in spite of today’s game,”
After beating the highly-rated Argentina team in the group phase, many had predicted that the Aussies will be a tricky side but that was not really the case in the Round of 16 clash.
