Reports from England say police have confirmed that former Manchester United Midfielder Tom Cleverly’s home was on burgled.

The England footballer who left Man United for Aston Villa in 2014 in search of first team football before joining Everton in 2015 and his family are understood to have been threatened during a break-in at their home according to the BBC.

The attack happened at an address in Hale Barns, Greater Manchester, at about 20:00 BST on Friday. Police confirmed a man, woman and two-year-old child had been the victims of an aggravated burglary, but said nobody was hurt.

The England international and his reality TV star wife Georgina Dorsett had designer handbags, watches and jewellery stolen, as well as two £50,000 Range Rovers, in the raid which occurred as they spent a night in with their two-year-old daughter.

Cleverley, 26, was unhurt but he and his wife, 29, are reported to be ‘shaken’ after thugs wielded baseball bats and an extendable baton at their £3.5million home.

An investigation has been launched by detectives.
