Enugu Rangers returned to winning ways on Sunday and they did so in emphatic fashion; demolishing Ikorodu United 4-1 at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium to keep their top spot on the Nigeria Professional Football League standings.
it was Francis Nnedum who opened the flood gate of goals; hitting the first strike for Rangers in the 11th minute while Tope Olusesi was on hand to double the lead for the hosts after combining well with Chisom Egbuchulam five minutes later.
Rangers were cruising and were three goals up in the 21st minute as Olusesi completed his brace but Moses Ebiye gave Ikorodu Utd a glimmer of hope reducing the deficit barely two minutes after.
While some the visitors would be mounting a comeback, it was never to be as Rangers instead nailed the game in the second half through Obinna Nwobodo who volleyed in the fourth goal for the hosts with five minutes left on the clock.
With the win, Rangers have increased their points tally to 31 from 17 games, on their part Ikorodu United stay rooted at base of the table with a paltry 10 points from 17 games.
