Thika United striker Eugene Mukangula has lauded his team mates and coaches for the support accorded to him in July, which saw him awarded as the July Player of the Month in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).
He scored two goals in the month and to lift his team higher on the log and he attributes his award, presented to him on Tuesday 23 August to the support and thus dedicates it to his club, it being his first ever award in his football career.
“It is a great moment for me because this is my first award as a player and I want to thank my amazing team mates for their support and inspiration. The technical bench has also been instrumental and I want to dedicate this to them as well,” he said.
The fine performances in the month did not just win him the award, he was also called up to the senior national team for the first time ever ahead of the coming matches against Uganda and Zambia.
