Milano United continue to lay down their marker as the NFD’s form team, following their 3-1 win over Thanda Royal Zulu on Wednesday afternoon.

The win was a fifth consecutive victory for Boebie Solomons’ team in 2016, and takes the Grassy Park side up into second position, the first time that they have cracked the top three this season. They have however played one more game than those sides around them.

At a windy Athlone Stadium, goals from Yussuf Jappie and Junaid Sait put Milano two nil up by half time.

The hosts added to their tally with a second half goal by former Platinum Stars midfielder Coldrin Coetzee, Thanda managing to register their only goal of the game through a late penalty by Siyabonga Shoyisa.
