Charlton youngster of Nigerian decent Ademola Lookman has signed a new long-term contract with the club that will keep him until the year 2020.
Ademola is seen as one of the brightest young talents in English football has now joined academy graduates Jordan Cousins, Harry Lennon, Tareiq Holmes-Dennis, Mikhail Kennedy, Regan Charles-Cook and Ezri Konsa in committing his long-term future to Charlton during the current campaign.
“We’ve had regular discussions over the past two seasons with Ademola on his development here at Charlton,” Addicks chief executive Katrien Meire told the club’s official website.
“We wanted to see him progress, as did he, to the first team and we were delighted to give him that opportunity back in November. He has shown that he is a great talent and we are thrilled that he has decided to commit to his future at Charlton.”
The 18-year-old added: “It’s a great feeling to have signed. This club is very important to me and I’m very grateful for the chance Charlton have given me.”
Ademola is eligible to represent both Nigeria and England.
