NPFL: Match Commissioner ‘mysteriously’ dies in hotel room

The Match Commissioner in charge of the Nigeria Professional Football League,NPFL Match Day 15 clash between Kano Pillars and Ikorudu United was found dead in his hotel room this morning according to a report on 

The deceased is Mallam Tanko Nuhu who hails from Nasarawa state.

The chairman of Kano Pillars, Alh. Kabir Baita, Nasarawa state football association Mohammed Alkali and the chairman of Nasarawa United Barr. Isaac Danladi have all confirmed the mysterious death of  the late Nuhu who is one of the experienced hands in the country.

Already, tribute have been flowing in from all quarters as scribe of the Nigeria players Union, NANPF Austin Popo prayed for the repose of the soul of the late match commissioner.

“On behalf of all,  Nigeria Professional Footballers express its condolence to the family of late Mallam Tanko Nuhu may his gentle soul rest in peace” Popo told

Until his death, Tanko was a former board member of the second-tier, Nigeria National League then headed by Emeka Inyama whose tenure expired last year.
