Kenyan international striker Michael Olunga had a wrong start to his career in Sweden as his team Djugarden fell 1 – 3 to cross town rivals Hammarby in the Swedish Cup clash staged at the Tele2 Arena.
Djurgaden started the game on a high, heading into a 1-0 lead after just four minutes via a Sebastian Andersson goal.
However, two quick goals from Hammarby, first by Brazilian Alex Medeiros after 20 minutes and the second by midfielder Johan Persson five minutes later saw Hammarby head to the break leading 2 – 1.
Philip Haglund wrapped up matters in the 70th minute with the third goal.
Olunga started the match from the bench and was introduced to the game in the 59th minute for goal scorer Andersson but he could not inspire a comeback.
The striker will be hoping for more play time at the team after securing his paperwork ready for the challenge in Sweden.
