Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Tefu Mashamaite lifted the Cup with Hacken after beating Malmo on penalties in midweek.
Unfortunately he didn’t play in the final due to an injury, as the game was drawn 2-2 after regulation time. Masha did participate all the way up to the semi-finals against Hammarby, where they won 3-2.
“Yeah, we beat Malmo yesterday and we are the Swedish Cup champs,” ‘Masha’ told KickOff.
“It’s exciting to be a part of a cup-winning team, especially in my first full season. This is the first time that Hacken have won silverware, so that makes the victory even more sweeter. It’s a beautiful little history.”
The PSL Player of the Year for last season is upbeat to get back on the pitch next month.
“I had a muscle rupture in the semi-final, which sidelines me until June, but I’m doing rehabilitation now and the focus is on strengthening the muscle that was affected. But it’s looking good,” he says.
